Parenting doesn’t come with a manual—let’s build one together.

Whether you are tired of second-guessing, worried about “messing up” your child or at a loss on how to manage your child’s challenging behaviors; I am here to help you feel calm and confident. Serving 0-5 kiddos and their caregivers in-home in North County San Diego and virtual parent consultations anywhere in the state of California.

My Approach

With 8 years in social work, and 15 years working with children, I have learned what works and what doesn’t.

You’re Not Messing Up—You’re Showing Up

Do you ever lie awake wondering if you’re messing up your child or not doing enough as a parent? Are you frustrated trying to manage your child’s behavior? Have you tried parenting techniques from classes or social media but found nothing is working? Whether you’re navigating toddler tantrums, preschool meltdowns, school-age power struggles, or the ups and downs of the teen years—you’re not alone, and you’re not failing.

At Secure Roots, I help parents move from worry and guilt to calm, confident connection. In my career and personal life, I have had the privilege to help guide parents break free from the past and its painful cycles and move into the present moment embracing joy, safety, and love in their homes and parent-child relationships.

My approach blends attachment science, positive discipline strategies, and the latest in child development and brain-based (neuroscience) parenting research—so you can respond to big behaviors while keeping the relationship and child development in mind.

I Can Help You:

What parents have said:

“Thank you for helping me create a better bond with my child.”

“I appreciate your friendly presence and kind assistance.”

“My child continues to thrive because of your gift of teaching and care; it is priceless.”

Research-Informed Approach

In my experience, the most remarkable changes occur when the relationship between the caregiver and the child is transformed. We can use your knowledge as a parent and my experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to create a healthy and safe environment in which your child can flourish, drawing on the latest research and techniques in attachment theory, neurodivergence, neuroscience, sensory differences, polyvagal theory, and more.

How my Approach is Different

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, I have come across the pressure to “fix” or “problem-solve” a child’s behaviors. This approach may occasionally work in the short-term (such as correcting behaviors through praise or rewards). The reality, however, is there is no quick fix. To achieve long-term results, you must focus on a child’s development and their relationships. That’s why I take a different approach; I focus on their need for attachment and teach you skills that support a child’s healthy development. Healthy caregiver-child interaction will help them in the present and prepare them for successful relationships in the future.
